Lili and Brian Caws must have done something right these past 19 years. Mysteriously Yours... Dinner Theatre has stayed true to a formula of entertainment that builds a loyal following. Each show starts with an era or theme. Early into the first act someone is murdered. Can you make sense of the clues and solve the case?

It doesn't really matter if you do or don't because this evening is all about enjoying great comedy and a fine meal with friends. After all, this is Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre and everyone is a master sleuth.

Dead Air! sets the stage as an interactive 1940s radio play. We are told that in a few minutes the microphones will be live-to-air so we must practice our applause and groans accordingly. Particularly special and a little different this time out, composer and performer Randy Vancourt is at the piano with a terrific musical score and many great
vocals from the cast.

Veteran actor Jean Daigle plays millionaire William Randolf Wurst, owner of WBN Radio -- Wurst Broadcasting Network. Daigle's best scenes come later on when he returns as Sam Spade, a 1940s gumshoe, who points his finger at his many suspects and asks us to make Sense of the clues as to who murdered Wurst. The real joy of Dead Air! is sorting out the actual clues from the more abundant red herrings.

Characters visit your dinner table before the broadcast and during the intermission to swear their innocence as well as offer information useful to solve the case or, more often, to add confusion.

Blaine Parker is the egomaniacal director Orson Kane, Scotty Watson gets many laughs as Rory Rogers, a fading cowboy star in chaps and a tall hat. Barb Scheffler as Rose Bud, is a comedic knock-out in a pink satin gown with a piercingly high voice. Mark Candler is wide-eyed Jimmy the Page. And lovely Rachelle Boudreau completes the cast as the sassy Patty Wurst - wow does she have family Issues.

This all takes place at long time venue, the Limelight Dinner Theatre. I always enjoy the sense of arrival as you descend the staircase to the theatre and dining room below. The menu is first-rate and dinner & show package extremely well priced.
